Mrs. Fasoyin: From Member to Choir Leader

The story of how Mrs. D.A. Fasoyin became the leader of the C.A.C. Good Women Choir Ibadan is a remarkable testament to divine guidance, faith, and God’s perfect timing. It is a story that has inspired many, showing that God’s call often comes in unexpected ways and at precisely the right moment.

Before 1976, during the early days of the C.A.C. Good Women Central Choir, Ibadan and District, the leadership structure was quite different. The executive members of the C.A.C. Good Women Association doubled as leaders of both the Association and the Choir. While this arrangement served its purpose, there was no designated choir leader—yet the ministry continued under the guidance of the Association executives.

Everything changed on the choir’s first anniversary, celebrated at C.A.C. Church, Olugbode in Ibadan. On that day, a decision was made to appoint a choir leader—a role that would later become central to the choir’s growth and influence. According to Mrs. D.A. Fasoyin, the moment was nothing short of a divine appointment.

On the day of the anniversary, all choir members were lined up in front of the church, preparing for the customary procession that takes place in every C.A.C. church during such celebrations. As the service began, an usher handed Mrs. Fasoyin the program pamphlet containing the order of events for the day. It was then that she saw her name boldly printed as “Choir Leader.”

She was completely surprised, having received no prior notification or consultation about this appointment. In her own words, she nearly fainted, overwhelmed by the realization that she had been chosen for this responsibility in a way that could only be described as divinely orchestrated. It was clear to her—and to all who know her story—that her leadership of the choir was not by chance or human decision alone, but by divine selection.

From that day forward, Mrs. D.A. Fasoyin embraced her role with faith, humility, and dedication. Her leadership has guided the C.A.C. Good Women Choir Ibadan through decades of ministry, inspiring generations of gospel singers, producing timeless music, and touching countless lives.

The story of her appointment reminds us that God’s timing is perfect, and His call is often revealed in ways that leave us in awe. The leadership of Mrs. D.A. Fasoyin stands as a lasting testimony that when God ordains a ministry, it flourishes under His guidance, bringing glory to His name.

Glory! Halleluyah!
